Waterbury PAL is proud to partner once again with Summer@Taft to offer a life-changing summer opportunity for outstanding Waterbury students.
Summer@Taft is a five-week academic and enrichment program held on Taft School’s campus in Watertown, Connecticut, combining academics, leadership development, athletics, and community building.
Program Dates:
June 27 – July 31, 2026
Who Can Apply:
Students entering 7th and 8th grade
Must be 12 years old by June 1, 2026
Scholarships Available:
Two deserving Waterbury PAL students will receive full boarding scholarships, covering tuition, room, and board for the entire five-week program.

PAL No-Fee Application (Form A)
– Use the PAL-specific application link provided
– Do not share outside the PAL applicant community
Two Teacher Recommendations
– Send the Teacher Recommendation Link to two teachers
Guidance Counselor Recommendation
– Send the Guidance Counselor Recommendation Link
Financial Aid Application
– Must be completed by the student’s family
Tax Documentation
– Upload the most recent year’s tax forms to Taft’s secure server (Leapfile)
Important Notes:
PAL will coordinate interviews and a family information night in April
PAL will provide Taft with regular updates on applicant status
Incomplete applications will not be reviewed

STEP 1: Click the link fill out the entire form This is the official Summer@Taft application for PAL applicants. This link is for the PAL applicant community only and should not be shared publicly.
STEP 2: Each student must request two teacher recommendations. Send the teacher recommendation link to two teachers who know the student well and can speak to academics, character, and readiness for a five-week program.
Step 3:Each student must request one recommendation from their school guidance counselor. This helps provide school context, academic standing, and support for the student’s participation.
Step 4:A financial aid application must be completed by the student’s parent/guardian. This is a required step for PAL applicants and must be submitted with supporting documents.
Step 5:Description: A copy of the most recent year’s tax forms must accompany the financial aid application. Upload tax forms to Taft’s secure server (Leapfile) using the link provided.
